Background
Neurology is the study of medicine that treats and diagnoses conditions surrounding the nervous system, including the brain and the spinal cord. Patients that are affected by one of these diseases may experience dizziness, memory loss, vision problems, headaches, and much more. Specific diseases may include Dementia, Alzheimer's, Huntington's Disease, and Parkinson's Disease. At Ohio State Wexner Medical Center patients will be treated by the number 1 neurology and neurosurgery program in the Columbus area.
Experience Statement
Patients should feel at ease when coming to the neurology department at OSU Medical Wexner Center. They should be able to utilize wayfinding aspects to assist, such as large signs and the number system, to find the information desk. Once there, patients should feel secure, having a clean and secure place to check in. Those with mobility issues should have easy access to different areas throughout the space. As for the design, the lighting needs to be cool-toned and washed out. If patterns should be included they should be simple. Those coming in will experience a relaxing area if all of these things are considered.
